Shot Blasting
The basic blasting process has been around for over 100 years but it was not until the 80's when the first mobile shot blasting process was Comissioned. This system has the unique ability to improve both the macro and micro texture of a surface.
The tracblast system is a mechanical process which is designed to remove excess bitumen, surface contaminants, and to retexture surfaces’ polished by traffic. The process is fully computerised, safe and environmentally friendly. It uses no water, no solvents or chemicals, emits no pollution or dust to the atmosphere and the removed material can be fully recycled. The system works by directing metal shot at high velocity at a precise angle at the road surface. This removes any excess bitumen and other contaminants and retextures surfaces to provide the required micro and macro texture.
Grip tests have shown SRV (skid resistance values) improved by up to 60% after retexturing by tracblast. The process effectively extends the life span of the road surface while reducing the maintenance costs and has the added benefit of helping to prevent the depletion of our valuable natural resources.
